The mental health of adolescents and
teens is very important. There are many different influences in
today’s society such as peer pressure, television, music, and
school that are major contributors which effect how they think, feel
and act. Their mental health influences their self-image, lives, as
well as the lives of others. Like physical health, mental health is
just as important in every stage of life, especially in adolescents
and teens.
When untreated mental health disorders
often lead to poor academic achievement, family conflicts, drug
use/abuse and suicide. I believe one of the first steps at helping
adolescents and teens is understanding them from their prospective.
Then we can begin to work on providing them tools, that will help
them achieve balanced and stable mental health and wellness.
